The selected manager will be the lead for interns and early-career staff in Mission Systems Engineering organization located in Dulles, VA. Responsible for managing early-career technical personnel assigned to a department (approximate staff size of 15), as well as ensuring appropriate training and support to these team members who support National Security (NSS) and Space Security Systems (SPS) programs. Includes all aspects of staff management, including recruiting, hiring, onboard, training, coaching/mentoring, career development, performance management, compensation management and separation of assigned employees. The manager will also design and run the intern program for selected students that will support NSS or SPS programs. In addition, the candidate will be a Systems Engineer or Technical leader on programs in the NSS or SPS business area; the split between direct (programs) and indirect (functional) is approximately 80%/20%.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Regarding program assignments, the candidate will be responsible for technical requirements and execution of pre-proposal engineering efforts, proposal development, design and development, design reviews, technical documentation, pro-planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in Systems Engineering for space, ground or mission critical applications
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in technical field with 5+ years of experience; or Master's of Science degree in technical field with 3+ years of experience
  • 1-2 years' experience leading, supporting and operating
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with active or current Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in technical field
  • Supervisory experience


Salary Range: $119,600 USD - $179,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
