DISCOVER Responsible for the Supplier Quality Management in line with Watkins' Quality Management systems and Quality Corporate Vision to ensure our suppliers continue to develop and implement standard processes that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and practice continuous improvements techniques. Establish new suppliers and existing supplier's development plans. Responsible for providing leadership, people skills and management to a team of Supplier Quality Engineers. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Design Engineering and Operations for the selection of qualified suppliers. Responsible for achieving Supplier quality budget and forecast. YOUR RIPPLE EFFECT + Manage SQE direct reports. Duties include, but not limited to; hiring; training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and focusing employees, addressing complaints and resolving differences. + Plans and coordinates Masco Asia's Supplier Quality Engineer activities such as supplier assessments/visits and audits, corrective action verification and failure analysis + Lead supplier development strategy, designing internal and external metrics to drive supplier performance. + Serves as an active liaison between Watkins and our Suppliers where major quality problems exist & helps develop and implement plans to achieve strategic quality targets. + Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements + Performs supplier quality audits to ensure systems to maintain standards are kept in accordance with Watkins Manufacturing requirements. + Promote the use of MOS (Masco Operating System) tools and techniques such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) for continuous improvement, corrective actions and performance development + Responsible for identifying technical problems, coordinating failure analysis with Masco Research and Development and issuing formal corrective action plan to suppliers. Drives suppliers to close corrective action requests and ensure that root causes have been properly identified and eliminated + Conducts initial quality capability assessments to quality new suppliers and provide supply chain with recommendations on best overall value. + Aligns with sourcing strategy to lead and conduct routine supplier assessments/visits to evaluate existing suppliers, identify gaps and develop their capabilities. Performs Quarterly Business Reviews and supports value engineering efforts. + Supports Company cost reduction objectives by working with supply chain, engineering, and suppliers to reduce waste through the supply chain. Use Six Sigma and lean manufacturing tools to get results. + Work on ad hoc special projects to enhance the quality of our products. A.) in Engineering from four-year college or university (Quality Engineering preferred) and seven years' experience in quality engineering or related role. In lieu of degree will consider minimum of 10+ years related experience and/or training. Experience working with Maquiladora manufacturing and Asia Suppliers desirable. + Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, ASQ Certifications (highly desired) + Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Strong Excel, Access, and Visual Basic skills preferred. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization, including the ability to present information to a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, or higher-level executives. + Bilingual Spanish/English desirable + Ability to work well independently with minimal direction, as well as within a strong team environment. + Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40% of the time to Mexico and Asia as well as the ability to get "Sentri" pass for border crossing.
