Job Overview



Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Project Engineering. We're looking for a passionate professional to accept a high level of responsibility within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position manages a team of Project Engineering professionals in the Sustaining Engineering organization. You'll coordinates with administrative and operations staff, project engineering staff, and customers in support of all fielded and in-production pump product lines. You'll identify and react to end-item test yield issues, supplier needs, and field operation problems, and you'll oversee RCCA investigations and recommend solutions.

This is an onsite position located in Rockford, IL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing OEM shop floor and field support.
  • Liaise between project management and operations, quality, and program management to ensure continuous output of the plant site.
  • Direct the work of employees assigned on projects.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports.
  • Prioritize pump engineering project resources.
  • Coordinate proposals and estimates for engineering support of future OEM and Aftermarket programs for Sustaining.
  • Ensure execution of internal and external / customer-facing RCCA efforts.
  • May act as a point of contact with the customers and develops understanding on customer needs regarding field issues.
  • Monitor and assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
  • Pumps experience is preferred
  • Project Management experience is preferred
