Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering team has an opportunity for a highly qualified candidate to oversee our RF Systems Process Engineering team. As part of our Manufacturing Engineering team, you will join leaders and experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. As a Manager of Process Engineering, you will lead a team of Engineers responsible for developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing systems and processes capable of producing a wide range of ruggedized electronics hardware for military applications.
The Manager will be responsible for the direction and execution of technical projects in a production environment. This includes the development of manual and automated processes, development/selection of associated equipment and the generation of work instructions suitable for shop floor operators.
The Manager will be responsible to lead his team to evaluate new designs for producibility as well as establish and maintain design guidelines, for use by Design Engineering, which lead to efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
The Manager will be responsible to lead his team with continuous improvement efforts with both internal customers and suppliers which results in reduced product defects and cost.
The Manager will lead and develop a manufacturing engineering team of professionals of approximately ten members with diverse engineering backgrounds.
Knowledge of Printed Wiring Boards and Circuit Card Assemblies as well as the IPC standards and Military specifications governing their manufacture is a plus. Familiarity with Lean principles and the manufacture of military grade electronics enclosures is a benefit.
The successful candidate will have experience in, and process knowledge of, some, or all, of the following: cleaning/removal of organic contaminants, epoxy adhesive, mechanical fastening, soldering, vacuum lamination, encapsulation, electrostatic dissipation (ESD) control, and process development / documentation.
Basic Qualifications
Salary Range: $94,300 USD - $141,500 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Physics, or related Engineering or technical field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience; or a Master of Science degree in the same fields and 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors
- Demonstrated success leading and collaborating with cross functional teams.
- Relevant experience in manufacturing or design
- Demonstrated commitment to results
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and Power Point
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
- Experience with PWB, CCA and electronics manufacturing
- Training in and experience with Lean Six Sigma quality control for Manufacturing
- Experience with process development
- Expertise in a Manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience running a work cell, engineering group, or technical projects
- Success in leading and developing people
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques
- Ability to read and understand product drawings
- Familiarity with Capital Project Management
- Software tools including SAP and databases
- Proficient with Earned Value management and Cost Account Management
- Current Security Clearance - Secret
