Responsibilities Ensure Engineering and Maintenance staff properly design/maintain/repair equipment while adhering to corporate quality and safety standards Prepare annual Engineering and Maintenance budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions as needed Pursue technologies to improve safety, product quality, plant profitability, operating efficiencies, etc. Assist Production and Process Engineering Departments in analyzing and correcting problems in their areas as related to Maintenance and Engineering Direct activities of the Maintenance Supervisors. Monitor and manage the Plant's performance from a maintenance perspective and re-direct Maintenance efforts as needed or assign Engineering assistance when required Interface with Maintenance Supervisors on personal issues Ensure that the Maintenance and Engineering Department is properly organized, staffed and equipped to support the operation of the plant on a 24 hour/day basis Ensure that ISO procedures for the Maintenance and Engineering Department are implemented and properly documented Act as the liaison with Corporate Engineering, R&D and Corporate Process Development Ensure ongoing development and upgrading of skills within the department through the scheduling of Vendor training sessions, specialized classes, seminars, etc. to develop the most capable Engineers, Supervisors and Craftsperson's possible Collaborate with peers of other facilities to share ideas and experiences Ensure plant drawing system is maintained by updating drawings and documentation of equipment Monitor and manage the facility's energy consumption Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field; and Minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment; and Minimum of five (5) years of management experience-or- Minimum of ten (10) years of engineering/maintenance experience in and industrial manufacturing environment; and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to lead and train others in a fast-paced environment Ability to motivate and energize a team to produce winning solutions Ability to make quick, thorough decisions Ability to identify problems/process improvement opportunities and provide solutions Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or across all levels within the organization Ability to handle multiple priorities under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time as needed Knowledge of machinery and its design/use
