About This Role: This is an opportunity to lead and influence the activities of a Systems Engineering team. The Systems Engineering Manager will lead a cross functional team of talented engineers and technicians who develop, implement, and support automated solutions for our manufacturing processes, electrical test hardware and software solutions and OT solutions to manage end points for medical device manufacturing. The team includes experts in automation and controls, industrial and collaborative robots, electrical test systems, and computer hardware and software support. This enables us to support and develop a wide range of legacy and new technology solutions across the full spectrum of manufacturing capability from high volume automation to low volume manual assembly. Your Responsibilities Include: Daily operations support as an escalation path for complicated production downtime events. Work closely with all the manufacturing business units to identify continuous improvement opportunities and create solutions that would enable manufacturing cost reduction. Provide support to new and sustaining initiatives in the areas of automation and electrical test originating from the Process Development team. Develop strategy to align site's manufacturing automation systems with industry trends. Act as a steward of new technology opportunities to improve line yields & throughput efficiency and reduce labor content & process variations. Identify opportunities to support other Boston Scientific sites with development or transferrable software and systems solutions. Engage with the IT team and counterparts at other Boston Scientific sites to align on development standards and common strategies. Work closely with the global team in the digital technology program to develop and implement vision AI, machine learning for data analytics and OT solutions. Prioritize project work and track progress towards completion. Ensure that completed projects meet customer expectations and timelines. Monitor daily work and provide direction and guidance to experienced exempt employees and skilled nonexempt staff to achieve unit or project goals. Develop a high-performance team through training, career development, and coaching. Maintain appropriate staffing level by recruiting, hiring, and retaining key talent. Budget planning and financial performance for the team. Collaborate closely with the Software Engineering Team to deliver systems-based solutions Monitor compliance with company policies and procedures What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Technology field 4 - 7 years of engineering / related work experience Previous supervisory experience A passion for connecting technical solutions with operational excellence Experience working with automated assembly and test equipment in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated success leading projects and implementing automated solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency Strong team and technical leadership skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PLCs and industrial automation Experience with electrical test systems development Experience managing deskside computer and software support across multiple shifts of manufacturing Experience with OT solutions and end point management.
