The opportunity Our Commercial Marketing Analytics Team is growing to help support the growth of our non-regulated affiliate Power, Gas and Emissions marketing and trading business. The team is responsible for advanced analytics that support strategy, origination, valuation and trading within the Power and Energy Solutions business unit. We are seeking a highly motivated individual in Calgary, Houston, or Chicago who has demonstrated experience in fundamental analysis of energy markets with a passion for energy transition. What you'll do Manage a small team with accountability for the processes and systems that are used to develop medium to long-term forecasts for power, gas and emissions that helps drive investment decisions for strategy and origination efforts of new renewable and thermal projects. Maintain accountability for the development and maintenance of models that forecast energy flows between regional markets based on weather, economics, structural factors etc. Direct the delivery of high-quality content to internal stakeholders, managing resources, and ensuring the team maintains elevated standards. Develop a market view as it is now and as it transitions to becoming increasingly decentralized and subject to new dynamics, policy evolution, market design, renewable penetration. Act as a subject matter expert on emerging market dynamics as well as macro trends to develop consensus on the market view to key stakeholders throughout the enterprise. Track, catalog, and understand the assumptions and drivers third-party vendor forecasts. Present and defend fundamental analysis and price outlooks to stakeholders and senior leadership. As a thought leader present at conferences and represent TC on industry expert panels and working groups. Develop analysts through coaching and mentorship, as well as oversee consultant work. Collaborate with other analysts within the enterprise to incorporate work into broader market views. Support automation efforts for key model inputs and outputs and coordinate database management with other staff. Oversee the maintenance and utilization of 3rd party models such as Aurora and GPCM. Network with industry counterparts to stay abreast new information that may impact energy markets. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferably with a concentration in Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering 10+ years fundamentals analytics experience Demonstrated understanding of power, natural gas, and emissions market fundamentals and regulations in US and Canada A natural curiosity about energy markets and the ability to develop forecasts that may be contrary to consensus Proven track record of being able to transform fundamental research into salient, actionable analysis/advice Leadership skills and comfort defending outlooks to a diverse audience. Skilled in economic analysis and analytical reasoning Experience managing dynamic workflow and multiple projects Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong Excel, Power Point and PowerBI skills LI-Hyrbrid About our business TC Energy is a leading energy infrastructure company in North America.
