What You'll get to Do:
The Manager Electronics Engineering 2 will be a member of the Product Development management team and will report directly to the Manager of Product Development. As a Manager Electronics Engineering 2, you will provide technical leadership and functional management (mentoring, monitoring, rewarding, recognizing, performance evaluation, and career development) for 8 - 15 Engineers in the development of military electronic equipment for avionics and ground applications. The PM&P Engineering Manager shall also provide technical review for all programs, participate in staffing and recruiting activities, assist in the selection and management of engineering tools, collaborate on strategic engineering organizational decisions, oversee the Parts Management Process, and champion training, process development/improvement and the application of new design approaches and technologies.

Technical responsibilities include PM&P support to the design, development, prototype fabrication, and design verification, and qualification testing of communications system equipment. The Manager Electronics Engineering 2 shall work closely with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve production problems, assess defective boards , c ircuit card assemblies and components and conduct root cause failure analysis and long term reliability evaluations when required. Functional job responsibilities require 8 hours per week. Remainder of time shall be spent directly supporting hardware development efforts.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in STEM discipline with 9 years of related professional engineering/military experience ; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree.
  • Candidate must have excellent written, communication, and emotional intelligence skills, and be able to work independently and within groups.
  • Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
  • Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader.
  • Familiarity with other Engineering disciplines including manufacturing, test, systems, quality, and electrical.
  • Knowledge of engineering process, defense acquisition process, and proficiency in process development and implementation.
  • CLEARANCE: Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, an active DoD Secret security clearance or higher that was granted/renewed in the last 6 years or is under continuous evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Experience in corrosion prevention and control, and in the selection of materials and surface finishes for military applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with outside supply chain and also within a small technical development team.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, component DMS, ESD, ROHS and Material Review Board concepts.
  • Understanding of military electronics reliability requirements, familiarity with EEE components, printed wiring board, components, connectors, and electrical grounding, bonding, and shielding concepts as well as processes such as soldering, bonding, coating, machining, plating, painting, welding, and brazing.
  • Possesses interpersonal, interdisciplinary, and leadership skills. Shall have effective verbal and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to function within a small technical team.
  • Understanding of the systems engineering development and management processes.
  • Previous experience as a functional manager or technical development team leader is required.
  • 5 years of experience managing a components engineering organization
  • 15 years of directly related experience in the field of components engineering

    Salary Range: $143,500 USD - $215,300 USD

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
