Job Posting Title Manager Controls Engineering Job Description Summary Manages and coordinates multidiscipline controls engineering projects regarding technical feasibility assessment, planning, design optimization, cost/schedule management, risk assessment/mitigation, project communication and ongoing production support. Achieves the safety, quality, reliability, timely implementation, and ongoing support of new or enhanced applications as identified in organizational goals and associated project specifications. Manages day-to-day maintenance support duties in electrical, facilities and mechanical. Job Description Provides leadership to the controls engineering and maintenance team, their processes and activities. Interfaces with various facility personnel throughout the project to ensure requirements are understood, addressed in the designed application solution, and met or exceeded during and after installation. Advocates for recommended control system architecture, products, components, and applications used in operational processes. Coaches controls engineering team through the identification and resolution of system integration and interface issues. Utilizes various industrial automation protocols such as CAN, RS - 232/485, Ethernet, GPIB, FlexRay , and Modbus. Prepares and reviews electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components, materials and suppliers. Utilizes DAQmx, VISA, XNET and ECU toolkit, and LabVIEW Real-Time Module. Achieves controls engineering operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements. Meets controls engineering financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Delivers technical presentations to various stakeholders and participates in additional reviews throughout the stages of various projects. Tracks controls engineering project accomplishments by comparing outcomes to plans; summarizing results; keeping management informed. Manage and track maintenance using Maximo Software. All other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering At least 5 years of experience in controls engineering function; Automotive industry experience highly preferred.
