Maintenance Worker

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and oversight of company property such as supported living homes, mental health homes, youth homes and administrative offices. The duties connected to this position shall be performed at the direction of the Regional Director.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of homes/facilities

2. Oversee ongoing preventative maintenance of homes/facilities

3. Ensure condition of homes/facilities are in compliance with Federal, State and local laws

4. Ensure adequate supply of fire extinguishers and assist quality with organizing the annual review of all extinguishers

5. Ensure adequate supplies of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, flashlights, and other safety equipment for use in the homes

6. Coordinate all aspects of property management for Support Solutions including oversight of contractors. Coordination will include:

(a) Reviewing work orders

(b) Ensuring working orders have been completed

(c) Obtaining bids from contractors for work that is outside the scope of the facilities administrator

(d) Periodically reviewing the work of the outside contractors

(e) Ensuring that contractors utilized have submitted required documents to Finance before starting on a job

(f) Assisting with locating contractors when needed

(g) Managing and overseeing any work for homes that are leased by Support Solutions

(h) Review costs of work and conduct cost comparison for completed work

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

1. Exhibits behaviors and best practices that are consistent with the vision and values of Support Solutions.

2. Practices safe work habits to eliminate and control potential safety and health hazards and to maintain a safe work environment. Attends all safety training as scheduled.

3. Work as part of the team to ensure that Support Solutions' Quality Management principles (Plan, Measure, Assess. Improve) are practiced and achieved.

4. Operates Support Solutions and personal transportation in a safe and healthy manner.

5. Performs other job-related duties as may be assigned by designated and/or authorized staff.

MINIIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent for this position must be 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED. Must have knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
