Job Overview
Gilman Cheese Corporation is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician to install, test, maintain, and repair automated machinery and computer-controlled mechanical systems at our manufacturing facility in Gilman, Wisconsin.
Salary for this role will depend on qualifications and experience.
The minimum rate is: $23.00 per hour.
$1,000 retention bonus after 6 months of employment
Duties/Responsibilities:
Implement and continuously improve Preventative Maintenance Program for Gilman Cheese Corporation
Develop a working knowledge of building facilities, all equipment, and machines
Diagnose problems when equipment repairs are required; contact appropriate vendors if needed
Maintain and clean maintenance shop and tools used in repairing production equipment
Order repair parts for projects and track job costs
Follow all established safety protocols and work with safety coordinator to implement safety improvements
Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing (GMP) and quality assurance practices
Change over and prepare equipment for manufacturing requirements
Tools used: Hand tools, multimeter, metal fabricating, welding lathe and additional shop tools
Education and Experience:
This position requires an Associate Degree or Electromechanical technician degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
This position requires the following skills:
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking
Math and written communication
Verbal communication and collaboration
Ability to multi-task and prioritize independently
Mechanically inclined mindset
Basic metal fabricating
The position involves continuous standing and walking, occasional sitting and bending, seldom crouching, kneeling, and climbing. The position requires lifting 25 lbs. frequently with occasional lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. This position requires seldom lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs. The Electro-mechanical technician normally works four ten-hour shifts (Monday through Thursday), with hours depending on production needs.
