Title: 2nd shift Maintenance Technician
Location: Omaha, Nebraska

Work 4 days a week/10 hours per day

3:30 pm - 2:00 am Monday - Thursday (Fridays when needed)

Pay range is $22-$27/hr based on experience

Compana's division of Oxbow Animal Health is a growing manufacturer and global distributor of premium nutritional foods and supplements for small animals, is seeking a talented individual to provide support within our Maintenance department. As our Maintenance Technician, you ll make an impact by:

• Maintaining equipment and vehicles in safe working order.
• Supporting plant preventative maintenance program, working to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions.
• Following all safety procedures, and wear required personal safety equipment.
• Following all food safety procedures.
• Properly maintaining all mobile equipment.
• Suggesting changes to equipment, systems and procedures that will improve safety, quality, and/or efficiency.
• Helping sustain/improve plant operating performance. Identify root causes of equipment downtime or delay. Follow a structured, cost-effective approach to problem solving.
• Operating and maintain the CMMS in an effective and productive manner.
• Recording issues, parts used, and labor hours accumulated to complete task or assignment.
• Assisting production supervisors with educating employees about effective equipment operation and avoidance of injuries and equipment damage.
• Demonstrating a sense of urgency responding to mechanical/equipment failures and related corrective action.
• Assisting with fabrication, modification and installation of production equipment.
• Keeping maintenance shop clean and orderly, securely storing all tools and supplies.
• Assisting with the movement of inventory, equipment and furnishings, as required.
• Assisting with cleaning done to buildings and furnishings.
• Assisting with grounds maintenance as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade-related accreditation preferred
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment
• Driver s license with good driving record
• Able to work with hay and hay-based products
• Able to bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, walk across uneven surfaces, climb ladders and stairs, work at heights over 20 feet, lift up to 75 pounds (some overhead lifting), and stand for long periods
• Work hour flexibility (occasional work during off-shift and weekends, per business need)
• Able to operate forklifts and aerial platform lifts
• Able to use hand/power tools
• Able to give and follow verbal and written instructions
• Self-starter able to work with a sense of urgency with minimal supervision
• General understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical
• Basic skills in plumbing, HVAC, welding (TIG/MIG), electrical wiring including low voltage, running conduit, and pulling wire, etc.
• General repair and maintenance of mobile equipment
• Effective, thorough and methodical troubleshooting skills
• Dependable, respectful and effective communication for customer service
