The Maintenance Tech position is an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday working in our state of the art, climate controlled facility, with the opportunity for voluntary overtime and, at times, may require overtime beyond the normal workday. We have available shifts on both 2nd (2:30pm-10:30pm) as well as 3rd (10:30pm-6:30am)
As a Maintenance Tech, you will support production by maintaining, enhancing, and repairing equipment with minimal interruption of production operations while also maintaining the facility as a whole. This position should carry out these tasks with safety, food safety, and product quality in mind. This position is also responsible for resolving maintenance issues as they arise according to their level of urgency in a team atmosphere. Morris Packaging provides on-site training and certifications to support your success.
Job duties Include:
Supports production by repairing operational/equipment issues as they occur in accordance to urgency
Complete work orders and preventative maintenance while maintaining the relevant documentation
Train personnel on repairs they have the ability to perform themselves if the issue occurs again.
Keep maintenance spaces and parts/equipment clean and organized.
Read and interpret safety rules, SQF policy, manuals, and general instruction that apply to tasks.
Perform modification and/or fabrication projects to increase the reliability and efficiency of the production assets.
Perform general facility maintenance.
Communicate with outside vendors in a professional manner and hold them to company policy while on premises.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Maintenance work experience preferred.
Must have basic math skills and ability to learn to read a US standard measuring tape
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and maintenance problems.
Mechanical knowledge
Basic computer skills
Detail oriented
Good time management and ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate and work with others effectively
Performing general physical activities such as standing, bending, pushing, pulling, grasping and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
