The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Maintain, repair, and install equipment and facilities, through quality workmanship
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications
Pipefitting installation and repair of pipe systems through welding, threading proper hanging, and expansion and friction loss of same
Complete overhauls of various types of equipment, such as: reactor drive, gear box, pumps, mechanical seals, forklifts, pallet trucks, conveyors, air and nitrogen compressors, refrigeration systems and boilers
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Ability work on weekends, short notice shift coverage and holidays as needed.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Completion of Federally-Certified (8,000 hours) formal industrial manufacturing skilled craft training program.
Three (3) years of managerial experience in private, public, government, or military environment
Travel: May include up to 0% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
