Maintenance Manager job opening in the Charleston, SC area. This position will have management responsibility for coordination and implementation of all plant wide maintenance activities. This job is with a heavy manufacturing company. You should have knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, automation, HVAC, etc.

Working with a safety-first approach, you will ensure that production machinery and facilities infrastructure are well maintained, and that preventive maintenance schedules keep operations running smoothly.

Using your knowledge about sophisticated machinery, you will also work with contractors and vendors to buy, install, and repair equipment.

Perform root cause analysis, identify maintenance improvement opportunities, and provide technical expertise to a team of about 60 people.

Train, support, and manage a team of maintenance supervisors, maintenance planners, technicians, and maintenance workers. Set department objectives, monitor, and report the completion of tasks.

Develop maintenance approach that improves product quality, reduces costs, and helps meet production schedules.

Excellent interpersonal skills, especially in motivating a team, dealing with customers, and working with vendors and contractors.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar.

Should have at least five years of supervisory experience in implementing and overseeing a machinery and facilities maintenance program.

Should have experience in maintenance planning, machinery reliability, certification in maintenance and reliability is a plus.

Experience working with a budget and managing P&L for maintenance. Maintenance budget should have been in the $10-20 Million range.

Should have knowledge about electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals, and have an understanding about telecom, security, and computer operating systems

Preference for someone who comes out of steel, aluminum, cement, paper, chemical process or related industry, or military officer in logistics/equipment maintenance field.
