Job Overview

SUMMARY

Supervises and Coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Knowledge of Food Safety, GMP, and SQF Programs that are Company Policies.
Encourage and Participate in the compliance of Food Safety Programs.
Trains Safe Food Practices and trains the practices to their respective department.

Directs and assists workers engaged in the repair, maintenance and/or building of machinery, equipment, cooling units, heating units, building structures, etc.

Sets up machine at the beginning of the shift, checking for the proper film and settings.
Change daters for the day and next day's production and perform machine change overs as necessary.
Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.
Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Proficient with the use of lockout/tagout and HACCP procedures.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities.
Performs activities of workers supervised.
Any and all other duties as directed by supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Insures that the maintenance team follows maintenance activities as they relate to food safety and quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to work in a cold environment. Need to be able to move quickly, demonstrate manual dexterity with both hands and demonstrates ability to crouch, stoop and kneel repeatedly. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPIERENCE

Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
