Job Overview

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs preventive maintenance on controls and control systems according to CMMS.
• Performs line and equipment performance through better controls and integration.
• Enhances equipment or line performance through program or control improvements.
• Assists line mechanics in troubleshooting problems associated with programs or controls.
• Reduces troubleshooting time by utilizing maintenance computer network to trouble shoot.
• Resolves issues associated with programs.
• Assists in designing new control systems.
• Assures and maintains back up control components, servo drives, PLC'S, and panel views.
• Writes moderate to complex programs for controls .
• Performs periodic inspections.
• Performs periodic systems testing.
• Performs control systems calibration as required.
• Reports and addresses potential problem areas.
• Follows all safety programs.
• Assists with implementing control systems on projects when required.
• Completes all required documentation.
• Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
• Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are followed.
• Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
• Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

Essential Skills and Experience:
Education:
• High school diploma, GED or trade school equivalent.
• Two years Trade School covering electronics courses including Allen Bradley programming classes, or a combination of education and experience in an equivalent field.

Skills and Experience:
• Ability to work overtime, irregular hours or rotating shifts.
• Three to five years related experience and/or training in the following areas; programming , electrical components and controls, and automation.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, diagrams.
• Ability to generate schematics.
• Previous food manufacturing experience is helpful.
• Ability to speak, write and understand English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, formulas, and policy and procedures manuals.
• Ability to write standard information into related paperwork.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Experience with Microsoft applications.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.
• Ability to effectively present information to management.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful.
• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment.
