Job Description
The primary focus of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and support equipment. The core duties of this position require analysis and the use of strong troubleshooting skills. Specific duties for this position include responding to equipment breakdowns, equipment installation, performing preventative maintenance, building repairs, and maintenance.
• Support operations for all repairs and maintenance of electrical and mechanical problems on equipment such as but not limited to continuous casters, rolling mills and stamping presses.
• Strong electrical and mechanical skills are required, but the jobs may also require hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills and abilities
• Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant equipment through the application of sound troubleshooting techniques and repair methodology
• Follow all procedures as given and seek advice on any deviations prior to acting on them
• Complete all assigned work orders and escalate where unable to complete.
• Perform preventative maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor and take appropriate actions.
• Inform Plant Engineer of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken, and of quality problems or supplies needed
• Assist with installation of new equipment and perform test runs
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing team environment and meet deadlines
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations
• Perform general repairs on the building and grounds including rooftop filtering and HVAC equipment
• Actively pursue and learn the technology and functionality of the production equipment and processes
Required Skills
Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and diagrams, using a multimeter.
Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics circuits or willingness to learn
Know how to use hand tools and power tools
Caliper and micrometer reading
Electrical and mechanical blueprint reading,
Must be a self-starter, team player, willing to learn, work well with others, and have a positive attitude
