Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Logistics Engineer/ Principal Logistics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL .
Candidate will be required to lead tasking to identify, analyze, quantify, and influence logistics requirements to support the weapon system including spares, Support Equipment, technical data, training, facilities, and personnel. This position requires the responsibilities of design influence, initiating and performing trade studies, detailed task analysis, RCM, significant item identification, failure mode identification, SE requirements definition and analysis, support system and maintenance plan development.
The Engineer will perform system engineering and integration tasks relating to Logistics and Modernization IPTs and represent Logistics in interaction with Design Engineering and IPT support. Candidate must also be able to travel to various site locations to participate and represent the L&M IPTs. Additionally, the task of driving trade studies to influence life cycle design decisions is required.
The selected candidate will be able to apply extensive technical expertise and have full knowledge of other related disciplines. They will be able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. It is expected that a successful candidate will develop technical solutions to complex problems. Work will be performed without appreciable direction, and the candidate will exercise considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the tasking assigned. The candidate will guide a project to completion and may function as the project lead. They will represent the organization, interact with leadership, and be responsible for planning, execution, and status of the project. Communication will be expected to intra organizations and outside contacts on routine matters.
Candidate shall have knowledge of design and database tools and possess the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
This position may be filled by either a Logistics Engineer or a Principal Logistics Engineer level based on the qualifications listed.
Basic Qualifications for Logistics Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in science with 2 years' experience; OR a Masters' degree with 0 years' experience; OR a High School Diploma with 6 years' experience in lieu of Degree.
• Must have experience in the system design concepts and maintenance of engine systems is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Basic Qualifications for Principal Logistics Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree in science with 5 years' experience; OR a Masters' Degree with 3 years' experience; OR a PhD with 0 years' experience; OR a High School Diploma with 9 years' experience in lieu of Degree.
• Must have experience in the system design concepts and maintenance of engine systems is required.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in STEM discipline
• 2 years of engineering experience in Propulsion and/or Power systems
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Active, DOD Secret Security Clearance

Salary Range: $53,500 USD - $80,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $65,800 USD - $98,800 USD

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
