Description: Job Title: Lead, Systems Engineer Position: IMS0 Location: Plano, TX Job Description: The Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division is a part of L3Harris' Agile Development Group and specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience. As Lead Systems Engineer, you are responsible for leading a Systems Engineering team in design, development, implementation, testing and analysis of cutting edge technical products and systems. Essential Functions: Requirements definition, flow-down and traceability for complex electronic systems Plan cost, schedule and execution plan of complex development and test activities Develop, track and present technical performance metrics Perform risk assessment and develop mitigation strategies for complex projects Lead Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team System design synthesis of complex electronic systems Perform trade studies on a variety of system issues and components Perform design verification testing efforts including lab, chamber, ground and captive flight test Analyze data from design verification test efforts Develop and run simulations and other analysis tools to predict system performance in various environments Generation of supplier statements of work, supplier oversight, auditing of supplier-delivered artifacts Present results during internal and external program meetings Participate in proposal activities both cost and technical Travel 10-25%; support field testing Able to obtain and maintain additional clearances as required Other duties as assigned Qualifications: U.S. citizen Active DoD clearance with current 6 year update BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required Minimum of 10 years of experience in a System level design experience in which the applicant has led or been significantly involved in the design and integration of complex hardware/software systems, the definition of multiple interfaces, and been involved in the trades of multiple solution options Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering disciplines and the government program acquisition lifecycle, to include requirements definition, creation of requirements verification test matrices, requirements decomposition, requirements traceability, design reviews and documentation, and integration and test 3+ years experience with RF or radar system components including antenna, receiver, exciter, and processor Minimum of 5+ years of requirements definition, flow-down and traceability Preferred Additional Skills: MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and/or equivalent experience desired Experience with and an understanding of aerospace systems, especially in the development of integrated hardware/software products Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates Experience with requirements management using DOORS Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations Experience with Earned Value Management and Control Account Management Master's degree in Engineering or Science Experience with proposal development including generating basis of estimates Design, development and/or testing of radar or sensor processing is highly prized experience Experience with Radar processing modes is highly valued Defense industry experience and working knowledge of military standards is preferred Experience in development of use cases developed from customer objectives and concepts of operations Experience with Continuous Integration Experience with requirements management using DOORS Experience with Earned Value Management and Control Account Management 6+ months with Matlab C, C++, or Python 6+ months of experience in role that includes prior supplier oversight/ actively managed suppliers in the past Design to cost experience Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
