The Lead Maintenance Technician will lead, train and mentor maintenance mechanics and operators to ensure appropriate technical and troubleshooting methods, job ownership, and customer service level are maintained. Will demonstrate minimally apprenticed level multi-functional craftsmanship in all maintenance disciplines.
Key Activities of the job:
Is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Packaging area and mentors/trains operators and maintenance mechanics to become SMEs in the same area.
Demonstrates solid knowledge in automation and controls, multi-functional craftsmanship and advanced troubleshooting of high-speed automated packaging lines.
Trains maintenance mechanics and assures that appropriate troubleshooting skills and ownership are applied in the repair of all plant systems and production equipment.
Demonstrates solid interpersonal skills with mechanics and customers; with a clear focus on customer satisfaction and communication.
Maintains all Packaging equipment, including vial labelers, vision systems, serialization systems, cartons.
Performs and trains on repairs and preventive maintenance for all utility systems and production equipment according to maintenance standard operating procedures.
Prepares various reports on daily activities and individual group members in time allocations as required.
Coordinates with other departments to schedule downtime for repairs.
Identifies and reviews enhancements to existing equipment and develops new ideas to facilitate productivity.
Performs and trains on Preventative Maintenance work according to Master Preventative Maintenance Schedule, ensuring timely and complete carry-out.
Assists Maintenance Manager (or Supervisor) with day-to-day operations; including Performance Review input, documentation, and compliance with cGMP Standards.
Assures compliance with all applicable cGMPs, SOPs, OSHA, EPA, and NEC regulations.
Key skills for success
High school diploma with some post high school technical/vocational education.
Five years experience in maintenance and a minimum of three years experience as technician.
Solid skills in analytical troubleshooting, technical writing and a thorough understanding of electrical, mechanical and automation systems.
PC literate and familiar with packaging industrial software systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
