Job Overview

Due to continued growth, our Utility & Industrial Group is seeking a Lead I&C Engineer for preferably our Kennesaw, GA or Tampa, FL office. Although these offices are preferred locations, we will also consider candidates working from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Lake Mary, FL, or Birmingham, AL offices.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
  • Develop technical solutions and resolve project issues
  • Define and monitor project scope and objectives
  • Develop and review technical specifications, develop electrical control solution for the project and technical proposal development
  • Designing control system including PLC / HMI / SCADA components, panel layouts and wiring
  • Develop, modify, and apply PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming applications
  • Develop, modify, and apply HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming applications
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting hardware/software
  • Performing engineering calculations and preparing design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
  • Provide estimates and scope letter to Project Management to support budget and schedule development.
  • Participating in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships.
  • Planning and implementing the timely execution of assigned engineering activities
  • Proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to I&C systems.
  • Perform site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions.
  • Perform site startup and commissioning.
  • QC checks for work of others.
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
Required Qualifications / skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of I&C engineering experience.
  • Experience with Industrial Automation and Process Controls engineering.
  • Experience with Rockwell PLC and / or Siemens' PLC and / or Modicon PLC platform.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one of the HMI / SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition)
  • Safety systems and interlocks.
  • Industrial experience in some or all fields such as power, sugar, chemical, material handling, waste-to-energy.
  • Knowledge of DCS interface with PLC based systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial network systems (Ethernet, Modbus).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution
  • Must be able to access/traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns.
  • Ability to travel between 10 - 15% of the time
Preferred Qualifications/ skills
  • PE license is preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience developing electrical and control schematics
  • DCS programming experience
  • Rockwell experience preferred
