This is a Lead Engineer position within the Artificial Lift Engineering group with the responsibility of modifying Variable Speed Drives (VSD) equipment and auxiliaries to support customer contracts.

This position requires knowledge in low voltage Variable Speed Drives (VSD) and associated equipment (i.e. Medium and Low voltage transformers, Harmonic filters and PLC devices). The candidate should be familiar with the design, components, wiring and controls software of VSD and their applications.

As a Lead Drives Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Sizing of drive components for different applications and related safety and code requirements.
  • Reviewing and commenting on customer specifications on drive and related equipment.
  • Creating, reviewing and marking up electrical single line and three phase drawings.
  • Performing custom design, order and approve the above-mentioned equipment for customer projects.
  • Supporting customer meetings, manufacturing, suppliers and installation of above-mentioned equipment.
  • Supporting product and process standardization, product structuring, redesign, and cost savings ideas.
  • Working to a strict schedule to meet contract requirements.
  • Commuting to and meeting on-time performance targets of internal engineering and customer deliverables.
  • Supporting electrical equipment structuring initiative, through developing design practices that improve product quality.
  • Leading equipment discussions at customer meetings, both domestic and globally.
  • Being responsible for strategy of how to handle risk and disposition of customer, factory or field issues.
  • Interpreting and implementing contract requirements and design practices.
  • Staying current with international, regional and local codes, standards, tools and processes.
  • Demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Implementing product safety, quality, and design policies.
  • Making quick technical decisions with limited data.
  • Being highly self-motivated.
  • Leading analytical and designing activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 3 years of experience in Engineering/Technology).
  • Have demonstrated design, practical and technical knowledge of drive components and controls.
  • Have experience with modifying drive hardware.
  • Have Customer mindset
  • Be a Self-Starter . Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Be active in drive design work.
  • Be able to travel 10% of the time.
  • Have proven track record of strong work ethics, accountability, ownership and sense of urgency.
  • Have proven troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Have verbal and written communication skills
  • Have interpersonal skills.
