Birnie Bus Service Lead Diesel Technician position available In Utica, NY!
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform both routine and complex servicing, maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles to ensure safe and effective operations. Supervise staff and maintenance and repair standards to meet contract and company specific requirements.
Duties include:
Within the framework of the company's Maintenance Excellence Program, schedule and administer fleet and facility maintenance, assist in troubleshooting problems.
Communicate availability of vehicles for service with dispatch.
Participate in the hiring, training, and supervision of technicians and maintenance staff.
Supervise bus washing and fueling.
Coordinate services for building and grounds keeping.
Ensure compliance on a day-to-day basis with State, Federal, and Company requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the abilities needed to perform the essential function of this position in both a field environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
High School Diploma, Trade School, mechanical courses, or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of Three (3) years' supervisory experience in automotive and truck mechanics.
Mechanical ability and understanding of vehicle systems including electrical systems.
State inspection license.
Completion of required hazardous material, brake and Dossier training..
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy including development of spreadsheets and word documents, tracking data, and generating reports.
Valid New York State Driver's License.
Having or obtaining a CDL with P (passenger) and S (School Bus) is REQUIRED within 6 months of hire.
