Job Overview

As a Lead Chemical Operator, your mission is to direct the flow of batch chemical blending/ formulation for industrial water purification applications. This is a critical role involving the careful operation and calibration of equipment to control chemical changes and reactions in the processing of industrial products. Key Responsibilities:
• Support all Environmental, Health, Safety and LEAN programs, policies, and regulations.
• Move control settings to make necessary adjustments on equipment units affecting speeds of chemical feed, quality, and yields.
• Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators, and listen for warning signals, in order to verify conformity of process conditions. Draw samples of products and conduct quality control tests in order to monitor processing, and to ensure that standards are met.
• Control or operate chemical processes or systems of machines, using panel boards, control boards, or semi-automatic equipment. Record operating data such as process conditions, test results, and instrument readings.
• Confer with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Regulate or shut down equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory personnel. Respond to injuries, incidents, spill, etc. per company policy and procedures.
• This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the shift and overall plant.

Core Qualifications:
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• 5+ years related batch chemical blending/ formulation experience with hazardous materials which includes a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience and proficiency in SAP.
• Ability and willingness to work differing shifts if needed. Overtime may be necessary on occasion
• You must be comfortable wearing a respirator
• Fork truck operation will be necessary

Other Useful Skills & Abilities:
• Associate Degree (two-year college or technical school) is a plus!
• Analytical testing experience and advanced leadership experience is helpful
• Attention to detail, good basic math skills, and comfort working with various software applications is helpful
