Laborers perform maintenance work in our Public Works Maintenance Division. Positions in this classification may work in Parks, Streets, Facilities, Field Utilities, or Garage Maintenance operations, as well as in the Central Warehouse. All positions require candidates to be able to work with others, as well as independently, on assigned tasks and to be flexible in performing multiple tasks throughout the day. Laborer is a part-time position which is paid an hourly rate and can work up to a maximum of 129 hours per month. Part-time positions are at-will, are not eligible for health or retirement benefits, and do not accrue leave time with the exception of state-mandated sick leave (24 hours per year).
