The customer service associate works as part of a five- person team that supports this purpose, and is responsible for maintaining a pleasant, neat , welcoming and professional atmosphere around all food service for students, faculty and visitors.This position reports to the Food Program Director and supports primarily the Customer Service Coordinator. The Customer Service Support Associate assists the Coordinator with stocking and transporting snack carts to snack stations located throughout the school, from kitchen and back, as well as daily cleaning of the stations, equipment on stations and carts. The Associate participates in the set up and breakdown of four daily lunches in the main dining hall, including busing tables and washing of all dining service dishes and kitchen pots, pans, cutlery and utensils. Position also includes assistance with set up and breakdown of occasional special events on evenings and weekends throughout the school year. The Customer Service Support Associate must observe all COVID policies and practices of the school. This is a 32-hour per week (Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), non-exempt, benefits eligible position.Responsibilities: Snack Program: At the direction of Customer Service Coordinator: loads individual carts with snacks and beverages, transports items to individual snack stations. Faculty Lounge: refreshes beverage and food service area throughout the day. Restocks supplies (serving utensils, cutlery, plates, napkins) at the end of day.Cleans each station daily Alerts Food Service Director of any snack service equipment or machine function problem.Lunch ServiceAt the direction of the Food Program Director, assists with set up and turnover for four lunch periods, specifically: Washes all pots, pans and dishes and manages the dish-machine and the chemical dispenser throughout the day. Maintains a clean dish/pot area and sinks throughout the day. Performs set-up of dining room area, faculty room, snacks stations, as well as bussing station for lunch.Maintains busing station throughout lunchreturning dirty dishes and silverware to the dishwashing area throughout lunch and runs the dish machine throughout the day. Empties and cleans machine at the end of the day and shuts it off before leaving. Helps restock plates and cutlery throughout lunch.Any other tasks as assigned by the Food Program Director.Performs other related duties assigned by the Food Program Director or Customer Service Coordinator.Qualifications: Position requires knowledge of safe food handling practiceGood knife skillsOrganization Ability to work with othersAbility to follow directions Ability to multitask and work in conditions that are often rushed or hotStrong written and verbal communication skills required.
