Job Overview

Join BLTs team of dedicated professionals as a Journeyman Electrician (E2). Within delegated authority, the Journeyman Electrician shall perform various hands-on electrical duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of our luxury commercial community located in Stamford, CT.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Journeyman Electrician :

  • Maintains all existing electrical systems
  • Ensures that the electrical installations and operations meet safety standards in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Diagnoses problems and provides solutions when electrical installations malfunction
  • Performs scheduled routine work and preventive maintenance
  • Performs ballast and lamp replacement
  • Performs emergency repairs as required
  • Troubleshoots causes for malfunctions or breakdowns
  • Reads technical drawings and schematics, wiring diagrams, and designs electrical installations
  • Executes all maintenance, repair, and installation duties
  • Conducts scheduled inspections to detect short circuits and electrical malfunctions
  • Demonstrates professional competence in the electrical trade and its related functions
  • Understands and has good knowledge of the trade's technical language and relevant safety and code requirements and procedures
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and rough drawings, and perform surveys
  • Keeps abreast of available technology
  • Shows willingness to learn new technology
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals
  • Performs other duties as required

Minimum Requirements of the Position of Journeyman Electrician:

  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school is required
  • Connecticut E2 License required
  • Certificate in OSHA 10 or 30 Safety is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of computerized lighting systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of motors, transformers, and motor control systems is preferred
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in installation, service, maintenance, and repairs of electrical equipment is required
  • Experience with Class 2 wiring is preferred
