The Maintenance Director in Training is an integral part the team that helps change the lives of our patients and residents each day by repairing and maintaining the building, HVAC systems and more. As a Maintenance Technician you are responsible for providing a full range of responsibilities that include:

In the absence of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Director/Supervisor in Training will supervise maintenance staff members and provide leadership and direction in the Maintenance Department.
Accesses the automated work order system (TELS) to schedule maintenance requisitions from all units and departments of the facility. Ensures all required tools and materials are ready to complete the maintenance request on time and according to facility requirements and state/federal regulations.
Assists with testing and maintaining the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms, extinguishing equipment and life support systems in the event electrical supplies are interrupted.
Maintains all essential equipment (HVAC, nursing unit/medication room refrigerators, kitchen refrigerator/freezer, laundry equipment, etc. in safe operating condition.
Tests facility hot water system on a regular basis to evaluate water temperatures in essential locations of the facility. Monitors acceptable range of temperatures and immediately starts repairs to eliminate hazards for facility residents, staff and others.
Inspects, tests and maintains resident call bell system to ensure a functioning communication system from rooms, toilets and shower facilities.
Maintains facility ventilation system to provide appropriate air movement with acceptable temperature, humidity and odor control levels.
Responds to emergency maintenance needs promptly.
Ensures that the facility is in compliance with all Department of Health/Life Safety regulations.
Cooperates with other departments to identify and accommodate individual resident needs and preferences by repairing wheelchairs, maintaining HVAC/PTAC units, replacing light bulbs, replacing light fixtures, painting, light plumbing work, etc.
Ability to provide written reports and projects to the facility's CEO/Administrator.
Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:
· 3 or more years of work experience within a skilled nursing long term care facility repairing and maintaining HVAC/PTAC units, plumbing and electrical.
· Proven ability to work effectively to identify and resolve maintenance issues; ensures long lasting quality results.
· Proven ability to work well with all department staff.
