Summary: Performs variety of field and technical tasks associated with phases of environmental site investigation and remediation under the direction of the project manager by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ã˜ Physical workday is performed outdoors in weather that may consist of extended periods in above and/or below average temperatures. Work is sometimes performed in inclement weather such as heavy rain.
Ã˜ Physical demands include extended periods of standing, walking, stooping and/or kneeling.
Ã˜ Performing groundwater sampling collection at various sites throughout southeast USA pursuant to state government and AET Standard Operating Procedures.
Ã˜ Performing Operation and maintenance of remedial treatment systems to include monthly scheduled visits, system restarts, trouble shooting for system failures and maintenance/repair of system components.
Ã˜ May assist in geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling under the direction of the project manager.
Ã˜ Field oversight of drilling subcontractors including oversight of well installation, soil/groundwater sampling and testing.
Ã˜ Coordinates sample packing and shipping to laboratory subcontractor.
Ã˜ Some projects expected to require overnight travel. Overnight travel may be for a full week.
Ã˜ Assist with physical duties associated with excavations, remediation system installations, remediation system modifications, and site restoration.
Ã˜ Duties may include heavy equipment operation, power tools operation, hand tools utilization, and heavy to moderate lifting.
Ã˜ Ensures compliance with company, government, OSHA, and other job-specific regulations
Ã˜ Interface with client and project management
Ã˜ Good oral and written skills
Ã˜ Basic math skills
Ã˜ Team player
Ã˜ 40-hour HAZWOPER training
Ã˜ Knowledge of field procedures and equipment
Ã˜ Experience working for an environmental/engineering consultant preferred
Ã˜ Prolonged sitting, squatting, stooping, bending while performing field investigation
Ã˜ Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)
Ã˜ 40 to 50 hours a week
Ã˜ Day and night work
Ã˜ Working outside in various weather conditions, uneven terrain
Ã˜ Physical exam to obtain medical clearance
Ã˜ Must pass a drug screen and MVR check
