Summary: Performs variety of field and technical tasks associated with phases of environmental site investigation and remediation under the direction of the project manager by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ø Physical workday is performed outdoors in weather that may consist of extended periods in above and/or below average temperatures. Work is sometimes performed in inclement weather such as heavy rain.

Ø Physical demands include extended periods of standing, walking, stooping and/or kneeling.

Ø Performing groundwater sampling collection at various sites throughout southeast USA pursuant to state government and AET Standard Operating Procedures.

Ø Performing Operation and maintenance of remedial treatment systems to include monthly scheduled visits, system restarts, trouble shooting for system failures and maintenance/repair of system components.

Ø May assist in geological site investigations including groundwater, soil, sediment and surface water sampling under the direction of the project manager.

Ø Field oversight of drilling subcontractors including oversight of well installation, soil/groundwater sampling and testing.

Ø Coordinates sample packing and shipping to laboratory subcontractor.

Ø Some projects expected to require overnight travel. Overnight travel may be for a full week.

Ø Assist with physical duties associated with excavations, remediation system installations, remediation system modifications, and site restoration.

Ø Duties may include heavy equipment operation, power tools operation, hand tools utilization, and heavy to moderate lifting.

Required Skills:

Ø Ensures compliance with company, government, OSHA, and other job-specific regulations

Ø Interface with client and project management

Ø Good oral and written skills

Ø Basic math skills

Ø Team player

Education:

Ø 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Experience:

Ø Knowledge of field procedures and equipment

Ø Experience working for an environmental/engineering consultant preferred

Physical Requirements:

Ø Prolonged sitting, squatting, stooping, bending while performing field investigation

Ø Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)

Ø 40 to 50 hours a week

Ø Day and night work

Ø Working outside in various weather conditions, uneven terrain

Ø Physical exam to obtain medical clearance

Ø Must pass a drug screen and MVR check
