GFL Environmental is looking for an E-Commerce Customer Service Representative to join our team out of our Southfield, Michigan Office! The individual for this role must possess strong communication skills both verbal and written. Successful candidates for this role must be curious learners and be comfortable with working independently. This role will be primarily responding to written communication from our customer base, along with returning voice mail messages. Each communication will take research to accurately respond to our customer's request, concern or complaint. Strong reading comprehension skills are a must and the ability to thoroughly respond to each communication to bring to resolution for the customer. The individual must maintain professional behavior in all aspects of communication, to project a positive image of GFL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with customers via email, telephone and text to analyze and resolve their needs
  • Answer questions from each customer contact according to GFL Policy
  • Research required using available resources
  • Identify and escalate trending issues or concerns
  • Handle high service request volume with effective service quality
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing parameters
  • The e-commerce rep must progress and grow with the company to ensure knowledge is up to date and accurate

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • 1-2 years of high volume customer service call center experience with with heightened email and chat communication
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Ability to build rapport, develop and maintain relationships with customers
  • Ability to analyze information and present a resolution in a clear and concise manner
  • Accurately inputs, retrieves and accesses information regarding a customer from a computer system
  • Clearly understands the practices and procedures of the department and job responsibilities
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow, while working with a sense of urgency
  • Need to be able to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Intermediate level computer literacy with strong data entry and typing skills
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Demonstrates success and comfort in working in a fast-paced environment
  • Must maintain composure and positivity in challenging situations
  • Organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Must be able to work weekends after a holiday
