DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Driller oversees all duties pertaining to the rig. This includes: operational and mechanical knowledge of Spudder Rig Atlas Copco RD20 XC, triplex pumps, duplex pumps, trash pumps, operating tongs and wrenches for making/breaking pipe, setting and pulling slips, top drives, enclosed mud systems, downhole knowledge of drilling, drill fluids, inspections, JSAs, training, computer skills (Microsoft Excel & Word), coordinating rig moves and routes, read and understand RRC well programs, coordinate with company man representatives on drilling operations and procedures, stabbing pipes and performing other necessary tasks to drill a well. In this role, one will also assist the Driller in the operation of the drill floor including hydraulics, mud circulating system, rotary system, handling tools and equipment.
â€¢ Supervise rig crews.
â€¢ Write JSAs.
â€¢ Ensure floor hands are being compliant with safety procedures and policies.
â€¢ Complete and submit daily reports.
â€¢ Perform and oversee maintenance of all drilling equipment and submit maintenance forms to the office.
â€¢ Oversee rig move operations.
â€¢ Order parts for rig and equipment.
â€¢ Knowledge of casing and drill pipe tallies to ensure depths.
â€¢ Knowledge of varies threads of casing drill pipe connections.
â€¢ Knowledge of BHA torquing collars, crossover subs.
â€¢ Power wash equipment coming from the field.
â€¢ Perform maintenance to various equipment.
â€¢ Use of power tools and hand tools.
â€¢ Rebuild mud pump fluid ends.
â€¢ Rigging up and rigging down drilling rig.
â€¢ Monitor and keep track of work orders and equipment service orders.
â€¢ Assess individual components of the control valves or mechanical control device parts for defects, dents, or malfunctioning areas and bring to supervisor's notice for urgent action.
â€¢ Operate skid steer and forklift as needed.
â€¢ Clean up and organize, rig site, pusher trailers, shop area, parking area, around the facility as needed (trash, debris, materials, etc.)
â€¢ Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.
â€¢ Ensure that safety protocols are followed.
â€¢ Must be able to perform good housekeeping and good hygiene responsibilities daily.
â€¢ High School Diploma or GED required. Experience
â€¢ Hands on experience with repair and assembly work.
â€¢ At least (1) year operating and drilling experience on a drilling rig Spudder Rig Atlas Copco RD20 XC.
â€¢ Mechanical knowledge of engines and equipment. â€¢ Proficient and knowledgeable in basic hand tools.

Skills and Abilities
â€¢ Must have attention to detail.
â€¢ Ability to follow written and verbal directions in English.
â€¢ Ability to correctly read a tape measure and use basic hand tools as well as add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals.
â€¢ Capable of working at heights.
â€¢ Able to work off step stools, lift platforms.
â€¢ Must be able to work in a team environment and have good communication skills.
â€¢ Able to follow proper protocol for incident reporting and emergency situations.
â€¢ Energetic self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
â€¢ Ability to identify top priorities in a high-volume multitask work environment and the ability to determine critical few and know when to communicate issues and escalate them for decision-making

â€¢ Working knowledge of pumps, valves, rigging mechanisms, pressure testing, etc.
â€¢ Basic knowledge of all tools and equipment utilized by oil and gas industry.
â€¢ Must be mechanically inclined.
PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
â€¢ Ability to lift 80-100lbs.
â€¢ Ability to stand for entirety of shift.
â€¢ Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling, and lifting.
â€¢ Must be comfortable swinging an 8lb. sledgehammer.
â€¢ Must be able to see, hear and have full use of both hands and fingers.
â€¢ Must have use of both feet to drive.
â€¢ Pass the required physical examination and drug screen as well as a Motor Vehicle Record check.
â€¢ Able to work in all-weather elements day or night-time.
â€¢ Must be adaptable to the unique work conditions that consist of long and irregular hours and changes in locations of work assignments. This position requires working in a rig setting with various weather & environmental conditions consisting of wet, cold, and/or humid conditions at well sites; working near moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, potential fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals where proper PPE must be worn.
â€¢ Able to withstand the mental and physical stress brought on by the elements of an outdoor work environment.
â€¢ Clean driving record verified by MVA report.
â€¢ Typical schedule is 7/7 but may be modified based on customer needs. Work alternates between day and night shifts.
â€¢ Location: assigned to specific region.
â€¢ Travel is typically within region only. Living quarters provided at our camps.
