What You'll Do
As the Construction Project Manager, you will cross functionally manage all aspects of the planning, design and execution of engineering design packages for sustenance, development and capital projects for the North American explosives business. You will be responsible for generating project management cost estimates and bids for medium to high complexity development projects. Other duties will include:
Provide engineering support for Dyno Nobel Americas (DNA) operations for compliance with DN engineering standards for equipment, process and plant design as related to equipment sourcing and procurement
Implements projects through the various study stages (i.e. Concept (FEL0), Order of Magnitude (FEL1), Prefeasibility (FEL2) and Feasibility (FEL3) in accordance with approved parameters (i.e. HSE, scope, quality, budget, schedule, authority limits, etc.), accountable for the delivery of the BU business case and project scope.
Manages both internal and external stakeholder approvals to move the project through the various development stages, implementation and handover.
Monitors, manages and reports all relevant study performance indicators to meet business requirements.
Implements project protocols and procedures to optimize decision making, record keeping, control of costs and team communications.
Establishes operational relations with external stakeholders including local Government, local authorities, communities, non-governmental organizations and trade unions in order to optimize project success.
Manages and develops the performance of the team in line with DNA company values, in order to achieve objectives.
Oversee design/engineering, contracts, change control, quality control, planning, scheduling, document control and safety associated with engineering projects
Collaborate with the DNA technical, commercial and operations teams on the review, planning and execution of strategic projects to develop new markets
Design and implement cost reduction practices in new plant and equipment designs
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management, or other related field of study
PMP certification strongly preferred
5+ years experience construction oversight/management for execution of capital projects
Knowledge in civil and or mechanical engineering principles, practices and methods, environmental regulations, and engineering project management
Background in chemical process dynamics is preferred but not essential
Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards (PSM, DOT, OSHA, EPA, BATFE)
Intermediate to advanced skill level utilizing computer software; Ability to learn and adapt to proprietary software utilized with process controllers
Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
