This position of Crane Operator is responsible for all operating functions as listed below. Running the crane must be understood in total with the focus of utilizing the equipment to meet all the quality and productivity goals as outlined in our quality system. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Make sure slabs are identified properly. 2. Pile scheduled campaigns for the Hot Rolling Mill.3. Any other crane operation. 4. Miscellaneous: Performed as necessary a. Follow all prescribed safety rules and JSA's. b. Housekeeping / Maintenance work assigned. 5. Help melt shop with crop buckets. 6. Load test weight slab onto the weigh table at run out for verification. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Other duties as assigned.2. Participation in continuous improvement programs.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:1. Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.2. Must work well with others.3. Good communication skills4. Time Management Skills 5. Basic Computer Skills.PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:1. Mobility: Standing, Sitting, Walking - Frequent 2. Strength and Agility: Lifting/carrying 50#, Push/Pull, 3. Climbing, Bending, Stooping, Crouching, Kneeling - Occasional4. Dexterity: Grasping & Handling firmly - Occasional 5. Ability to work a rotating shift (rotating from days to nights on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule).HEALTH AND SAFETY1. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.2. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy.6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines.7. Maintain a clean and safe work area.WORK ENVIRONMENT:1.
