Wood is seeking an Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join theirConventional Energy Team in Calgary. The successful candidate will have oil and gas experience.
As a part of the Instrumentation Controls and Telecom discipline, your responsibilities within Instrumentation will be as follows:
- Design, development and technical content of the Instrumentation project work
- Responsible for specifying and selecting field instrumentation and control devices
- Responsible for reviewing supplier bids to ensure compliance with instrument data sheets and produce technical bid summaries
- Responsible for performing squad check of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines
- Have frequent contact with vendors, and internal staff
- Plan, coordinate and prepare equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for various equipment
- Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing facility projects
Skills / Qualifications
- Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering
- 10 years industry experience in Western Canada and knowledgeable in all commodities
- Computer skills and database knowledge
- Application of Smart Plant Instrumentation
- Exposure to engineering tools (i.e., Industry standard sizing programs)
- Exposure to configuration of industrial systems
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
