Wood is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Project Engineer to join our Conventional Energy team in Edmonton.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex brownfield Petrochemical projects
- Lead projects through define, detailed design and execution phases to project close-out
- Responsible for preparing basic design engineering package, project execution plan, cost estimate, schedule and construction work packages
- Cost and schedule management, resource planning, contracting and procurement
- Detailed design review, facilitation and developing team culture to support project goals
- Have the ability to manage multi-discipline projects with strong understanding and ability to interface with other disciplines outside of I&C
- Assess and manage project and risk in conjunction with area teams throughout all phases of project delivery
- Interface with multiple stakeholders to plan and deliver quality start-up of projects
- Ensure EPC requirements are met
- Manage safety, quality, cost, schedule and delivery of scopes for each project
Skills / Qualifications
- B. Sc in Engineering or Engineering Technologist
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience
- Knowledgeable about DCS/PLC control systems, Instrumented Protective Functions and Safety Instrumented Systems
- Relevant design and engineering experience within Instrumentation and Controls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks while making quick key decisions
- Ability to be an influencer with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Must live within reasonable commuting distance
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada at time of application
- Eligible for accreditation with APEGA. P.Eng, or P.L. (Eng.).
