Job Overview
We are looking for 1st Shift Coating Technicians / Industrial Painter
Standard Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:00am-4:30pm
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR OVERTIME INCLUDING WEEKENDS
Pay Rate is based on Experience
Work area is NOT temperature controlled and temperatures fluctuate with outside temperatures.
This position reports to the Production Manager. This position will be filled by an individual who works cooperatively and enthusiastically, and in addition to the following responsibilities, is willing to provide support and assistance in all areas.
Apply in-house zinc-rich, epoxy, liquid polymer, PTFE, and other types of coatings using dip spin or spray application. Some working knowledge of coatings and coating application is desirable.

1. EDUCATION AND SKILLS
High School diploma preferred.
Must have good oral communication skills.
Must be able to follow written instructions
Possess mechanical aptitude
2. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the physical attributes to perform job duties unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Able to stand and move all day.
Able to work overtime when needed.

4. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES and AUTHORITIES
a. Perform coating operations according to the requirements of the work orders. READ, UNDERSTAND, and FOLLOW all work order instructions.
b. Ability to understand, operate, and adjust coating equipment.
c. Ability to monitor and adjust coating attributes, such as viscosity adjustments and straining coating impurities when needed.
d. Ability to perform basic preventive and reactive maintenance on equipment as needed.
e. SPRAYERS: Knowledge of operation and ability to rebuild spray guns and equipment.
f. Inspect one's own work by initialing the work order before releasing product to the next internal customer.
g. Ability to use a forklift.
h. Ability to complete assigned schedules.
i. Recognize work order errors (for example, quantity, box counts, part configuration, etc.) and notify lead person.
j. Recognize poor quality product- stop process and adjust as necessary, or alert supervisor.
5. SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Demonstrate consistent safety awareness.
b. Always wear proper PPE.
c. Maintain proper housekeeping activities, including maintaining a clean workstation, keeping coating pails covered when not in use, spills immediately wiped up, buckets and baskets cleaned out when changing coatings, spray guns and pots cleaned when changing coatings, and proper maintenance of PPE.
