Job Overview
Darigold is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to be a part of Darigold's Portland Plant team. The Maintenance Mechanic must possess the desire and ability to maintain and repair all plant equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic's role is to ensure successful maintenance and repair of plant machinery and supporting special projects within the plant. This role is represented by a bargaining agreement, which will require union membership. We offer our employees a team oriented work environment, competitive salary, and an excellent benefit package.

What you will do:
Install, assemble and test new and existing production machinery and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery
Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
Understanding and experience in preventive maintenance.
Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service and testing of machinery.
Usage of a CMMS to schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics and equipment manuals
Able to lift 50 lbs. routinely / frequently and be able to sit, stand or climb or walk for 8 hours
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and maintain equipment and records
Strong team/verbal/written skills are required. Demonstrated ability to be a Team Player
Able to work in a loud environment
Must be available to work any shift
What you will bring:
Familiarity with MS Office suite and applications, ability to utilize electronic communication effectively
Experience troubleshooting: PLC's, controls instrumentation (limited)
Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience preferred
Formal education in a related field - prefer Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering a plus
