Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector Manufacturing Operations Engineering Organization is seeking an Industrial Engineer. This position is located in Sykesville, MD.
The Industrial Engineer will be assigned to a manufacturing cell, paired with an experienced lead Industrial engineer (IE), with the expectation of quickly gaining the skills to either take over the lead role or to take over a single IE manufacturing cell.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer:
Salary Range: $71,500 USD - $107,300 USD
Salary Range 2: $88,000 USD - $132,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Monitor labor performance and other large data sets to develop plans and reporting metrics for process improvement of program & operational performance
- Monitor capital resource loading and develop plans for capacity management
- Coordinate facility capital plan execution and assist and design of facilities
- Define, analyze, and document process designs through efficient sequence of operations and workflows (product routings)
- Use and maintain models for standard work assignment
- Lead Continuous Improvement activities (e.g. 5-S, VSM, 6-Sigma)
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures
- May manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations
This requisition may be filled as either an Engineer or a Principal Engineer based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for an Engineer:
- Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or other STEM area
- 2 years of relevant experience; candidates with a Master's degree and 0 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Industrial Engineering experience or Manufacturing experience
- Bachelor's of Science degree or higher in Engineering or other STEM area
- 5 years of relevant experience; candidates with a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Industrial Engineering experience or Manufacturing experience
- Degree in Industrial Engineering
- An advanced degree (MS)
- Professional experience in industrial engineering
- Proficient with AutoCAD or Visio software
- Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or automotive industries
- Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment
