Position Summary
The Industrial Engineering position is crucial to our rapidly-expanding operations within Bandag, our tire retread division. This is an exciting role that will coordinate with several different locations, optimizing the interconnected components of a manufacturing system (e.g., plant location, personnel work flow/ergonomics, materials logistics, production process sequence, and equipment layouts, etc.).
This position can be based out of Nashville, TN, Oxford, NC, and Abilene, TX and will require up to 75% travel.
Responsibilities
Leads projects or processes of diverse scope, while working independently with limited supervision
Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
Conducts cost/inventory/production control and human factors studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
Assists manufacturing plant/facilities engineers with facility planning and design
May assist in establishing accident prevention measures and manage production operations training programs for plant personnel
Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related
2 years of industrial engineering experience
Background in Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Lean preferred
