What you will do
The Industrial Automation Technician will support the production lines, equipment, and facility by providing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities. The abilities and skills required are broad based to include electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
How you will do it
As an Industrial Automation Technician, you will:
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all production machinery, testers, and facility systems and equipment as needed utilizing a variety of hand tools, testers, and shop power tools.
• Read and comprehend electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints and schematics and perform troubleshooting and repairs of these systems.
• Work with engineers, technicians, production, and maintenance associates in resolution of equipment issues and repairs.
• Provide written documentation and reports as requested.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and communicate with other supervisors to coordinate repair activities in individual departments in a customer oriented manner with "customer first" sense of urgency.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Train or instruct others on technical issues and operation of equipment as needed.
• Attend classes and seminars to update skills as required.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two year industrial electronic course from a reputable school
• Two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, sketches, diagrams, and memos
• Ability to create and write correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees, customers, clients, and vendors
• Strong interpersonal skills to encompass establishing productive relationships with company management and personnel
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to convert metric system measurements.
• Ability to work overtime to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with variables.
