Job Description
Biomerics IGI is looking for an Image Quality Intern to support the development and qualification of single use endoscopes. The Image Quality Intern should be able to analyze image data from opto-electrical systems using standard software tools (e.g. python, MATLAB, etc.), and should be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and customers to understand ISP needs. This candidate should have experience tuning image signal processing algorithms and a basic understanding of geometric optics and image formation. The image quality intern should have experience designing and performing tests in the lab and in the field to verify system performance.

Technical requirements definition
Develop understanding of subjective image requirements
VPU development and customization
Develop and model image processing algorithms
Qualify image sensors
Work with vendors to develop custom image sensors, imaging optics, and camera assemblies.
Test
Image quality metrics
Imaging and lighting optimization
ISP pipeline tuning
Test method and equipment development
Troubleshooting
Use troubleshooting opportunities to develop further capabilities to be applied
Provide root cause analysis of image related issues
Build imaging manufacturing capabilities/processes
Transfer to manufacturing
Test fixture development
Test automation
Manufacturing process development
Preferences
Knowledge of ISP pipelines, image fusion, computer vision algorithms, camera calibration, or computational photography.
Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis.
Hands-on experience with image quality measurement,
Knowledge in ISP algorithms and tuning parameters.
Fluent Matlab/Python programming skills in digital image processing. Hands-on experience with testing automation is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Requirements:
Jr/Sr or recent graduate in image processing, color science, or related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in color imaging, colorimetry, image quality and image processing.
Experience with Matlab or other modeling software
Knowledge of Image Sensors and Image Quality measurement.
