Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:

  • Manage and lead our design teams to deliver Roadway drainage/Flood control projects
  • Develop, oversee, and monitor project activities including scope, budget, and schedules for transportation projects
  • Solicit and manage sub-consultant engineering services
  • Manage project team which may include PEs, EITs, designers, and technicians
  • Interface with clients including state and local agencies
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
  • Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources
  • Assist in proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projects.
  • Participate in Practice Leadership including assisting with Workload Projections, Annual Business plans, Growth Strategies, Recruiting, and Staff Development.
  • Support company-wide hydrologic/Hydraulic, flood control, and transportation
  • Manage Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities per our Quality Program


Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil engineering (FE Complete)
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona is desirable
  • Minimum 2-4 years of hydraulics design experience including:
  • Design of roadway drainage and flood control facilities
  • Design of erosion control and water control facilities
  • Experience in managing technical staff and project teams is desirable
  • Ability to manage several projects concurrently
  • Experience and relationships with transportation and flood control agencies are highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Bentley Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, 2D Modeling, and other applicable software
  • Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic software, including HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, etc.
  • DOT, AASHTO, and FHWA highway drainage design criteria and guidelines.
  • Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
  • Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices
  • Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
