Summary: Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining laboratory testing equipment to maximize uptime and testing throughput efficiency while maintaining a safe work environment. The scope of the position includes point of contact for routine troubleshooting and maintenance and the establishment of preventative maintenance programs. Individual must be a self-starter, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be devoted to achieving overall facilities excellence in a dynamic laboratory setting. Requirements: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. Familiarity and experience troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical equipment manufacturers and systems that perform Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (Rooftop units, air handlers, chillers, boilers, etc.). Familiarity and experience troubleshooting and repairing Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration control systems. A minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary. Plans, budgets, schedules and performs facilities modifications, including preparation of capital appropriation requests. Performs and/or directs maintenance personnel and third-party contractors engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance. Establishes and oversees preventative maintenance programs throughout the Technology Center. Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, test cells, compressed air, steam, and other systems Collaborates with engineering personnel regarding issues impacting facilities performance. Maintains information and project files surrounding test facilities management.
