Job Overview
The Lodge is looking for a full-time employee who adaptable to work as a laundry and housekeeping tech. The Lodge prides ourselves in clean and homelike atmosphere, so this employee must pay attention to detail, physically capable to walk and stand for extended period of time, punctual, team player, and enjoy working in an environment with elderly individuals.
House Keeping Duties:
Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors. May occasionally be required to spray buff, strip or wax floors, following facility procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
Report to supervisor any carpeted areas that need cleaning or spot removal.
Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
Dust damp clean surfaces in patient rooms (furniture, bed frames, windowsills, etc.) following facility procedure, including the use of wet floor signs.
Empty trash cans, clean exterior, clean interior, and replace can liner with a clean one.
Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets, following facility procedure.
Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors, pictures, and windows.
Clean behind and underneath furnishings.
Move furniture to clean behind/underneath, according to facility procedures.
Turn bed mattresses after cleaning.
Clean dining area after breakfast and lunch; wipe tables, sweep, mop, etc.
Change soiled privacy curtains and draperies for the outside windows as needed.
Remove and rehang curtains and draperies for the outside windows, using a ladder.
Sweep outside porches, walkways, etc., pick up any trash not properly disposed.
Follow cleaning schedules as set by supervisor.
Follow infection control standards while performing cleaning.
Use isolation techniques (gowns, gloves, special cleaning, etc.) as needed.
Recognize patient rights while cleaning patient rooms. Treat patients and their belongings with dignity and respect.
Safeguard chemicals used, keeping chemicals either locked or in sight
Follow precautions as stated on SDS for chemicals used.
Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment, supplies, and storage areas.
Clean and properly store equipment used at the end of each shift, following set procedures.
Inspect equipment prior to use to provide for safe operation.
Report to Maintenance Department any equipment repairs needed throughout the facility.
Maintain adequate supplies (soap, lotion, paper towels, toilet tissue, etc.) in bathrooms throughout facility.
Prevent/remove wax/dirt buildup in corners, around baseboards, or in doorways.
Laundry Duties
Folds and sorts clothes.
Hangs clothes on racks according to name and numbers.
Delivers patients' laundry to designated areas.
Ensures that patients' clothes are ready to wear, and any in disrepair put in proper place.
Understands functions of various soaps and bleaches.
Follows precautions as stated on SDS for all chemicals used.
Washes and dries clothes and linens.
Keeps equipment clean and follows cleaning schedules.
Sweeps and mops laundry area.
Reports any needed repairs to maintenance department.
Operates large equipment (Washer, dryers etc).
Cleans lint traps/filters according to established schedules.
Handling of soiled laundry items.
Sorts and folds various laundry items (blankets, sheets, towels etc.).
Cleans and disinfects linen carts as required.
Empties washers and dryers as requested/necessary.
Operates water, gas, and electric cut off switches and valves.
Stain removal.

Pay: $10.00 - $10.50 per hour
