Position Overview:
Navistar Advanced Technologies group has an exciting opportunity for a HMI product engineer.
This position will report into the Chief Engineer of Advanced Technologies (Vehicle) and be responsible for managing next generation HMI projects from idea inception to implementation readiness. In this position you will be responsible for idea generation, supplier definition, managing supplier driven technology evaluations, and defining component requirements.
Responsibilities:
Managing relationships with suppliers.
Develop testing and installation plans to demonstrate technology advancements.
Develop business cases for new technologies.
Work directly with Navistar product development teams to test and release technologies to production.
Budgetary planning for technology assessment projects.
Collaborate with leaders of base platforms to define next generation requirements for Dashboard, center displays and Misc HMI's.
Reporting conclusions to senior level engineering leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development
OR
Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
OR
PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Additional Requirements:
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
