VERBIO North America is seeking a Logistics Material Technician - Heavy Equipment Operator to support Feedstock and Logistics activities at their biomethane and ethanol production facility located at 59219 Lincoln Highway, Nevada, IA 50201.

About Verbio

At the Nevada, IA location, VERBIO plans to produce biomethane (renewable natural gas) from baled crop residues and ethanol from corn. The plant is currently under construction and the plan is to begin biomethane production in second quarter 2021. Occurring in the 3rd quarter of 2022 there will be an expansion of the biomethane process as the ethanol facilities are being retrofitted and will be brought online.

Position Purpose

This role will specifically focus on logistics and material handling to support the biomethane plant. The plant will utilize crop stover and corn as inputs and create a soil conditioner product in addition to renewable natural gas (methane). The work scope will include safe machine operation of trucks as well as other pieces of stover and hummus equipment, light maintenance functions, preventative checks of motor equipment, material handling, feedstock organization, logistics support to meet site demands, and grounds maintenance of all feedstock sites and the Nevada, IA plant site.

Essential Functions

• Meet scheduling needs to provide safe and efficient movement of equipment and feedstock
• Responsible for inventory sorting and warehousing in alignment with product specifications and quality assessments
• Responsible for accurately recording and reporting feedstock inventory
• Ensure all farm services equipment is routinely maintained, inspected, and repaired in a timely manner
• Responsible for maintaining, documenting, and adherences to established procedures and policies
• Perform routine site maintenance including but not limited to lawn care and snow removal
• Provide back up support to other roles as needed and additional duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, farming, or military environments.
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills and ability to overcome obstacles.
• Experience safely operating equipment including but not limited to end loaders, telehandlers, semi tractors, forklifts and other maintenance equipment as assigned.
• Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy and possess a customer service focus.
• Possesses the ability to follow oral and written instructions including operating manuals, procedures, and policies.
• Must be able to make prompt, informed decisions while working independently with minimum supervision.
• Valid Drivers License with good driving record
• CDL certification or ability to be certified
