In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of highly dedicated and committed professionals in support of our operations. You will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and sustainment of Health and Safety (H&S) and emergency management solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
Five years of health and safety experience within the oil and gas industry
A post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), Environmental Science. Industrial Hygiene, or equivalent education
Experience conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations, analyses, audits and self-assessments
Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel
A valid driver's with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
A valid passport, as international travel may be required
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with all levels of leadership to support the design of facility H&S programs, procedures, safe work practices, orientations, campaigns, etc.
Interpret and apply federal and local health and safety regulations that govern the activities, products and services to assist leaders in reflecting due diligence in decision-making
Conduct incident investigations and provide incident owners with a full debrief in findings with a continuous improvement mindset to provide solutions to prevent potential issues in the future
Perform incident root cause analysis and mentor owners in cause and corrective action
Support capital projects and other engineering projects while you ensure compliance with our standards and federal and local regulatory requirements
Lead contractor safety through site-based kick-off meetings and field validations of contractor hazard assessments
Perform technical writing functions that include editing processes, procedures, plans and reports
Location and other Key Details:
You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs, including being on-call as appropriate and potentially working night shifts as necessary during large scale outages, turnarounds, and/or emergencies
You will be required to use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
Salary/Hourly Rate and Compensation Details:
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
$74,000 - $93,000 annual salary
