Job Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Grounds Maintenance Technician "A" will operate and maintain construction equipment for yard projects at various sites. Perform all functions necessary to complete yard work safely and proficiently. Must have valid CDL driver's license, Class A and clean driving record. Gooseneck low profile heavy equipment flatbed trailer experience, is a plus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate construction equipment proficiently (i.e. Caterpillar Equipment, backhoe, paving box, dozer, excavator, etc.).
Broad knowledge of construction field work (excavation, drainage, paving, etc.).
Snow plowing experience required.
Mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain equipment.
Ability to perform necessary handwork and clean-up.
Ability to do minor repair of equipment.
Report to Supervisor (or person in charge) for assignments.
Report to supervisor all problems that interfere with a proper and safe work environment.
Follow all work / safety rules and OSHA procedures.
Work as a team member to accomplish company needs/tasks.
Must have good communication skills.
Ability to work quickly and accurately.
Ability to respond to facility emergencies during unscheduled hours.
Must be able to follow verbal or written instructions easily.
Work includes litter control, mowing, trimming, or painting and other duties as assigned.
All other job duties as assigned by Management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: -
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Available to work Monday - Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm, overtime as required.
Must pass pre-employment physical and substance abuse screenings prior to employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job requirements are those that are physical in nature. They include walking, squatting, reaching, twisting, bending, standing and carrying up to 80 pounds, on dry, wet and/or slippery surfaces. Perform work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
