Housing Hope and HopeWorks agencies are the major non-profit developer of affordable housing and provider of human services in Snohomish County and Camano Island. Our mission is to promote and provide affordable housing and tailored services to reduce homelessness and poverty for residents of Snohomish County and Camano Island. We achieve this through a variety of interventions including social enterprises, children's services, subsidized housing opportunities and services, employment, education and training services.

Hours:

40 hours per week, full-time

Salary Range:

$18.62 - $22.75 hourly

Purpose:

This position is responsible for overseeing GroundWorks Construction operations. Duties include partnering with the director to establish, implement and manage business development strategies. Other responsibilities include working closely with the director on budgeting, scheduling, quality control and maintaining trucks, trailers and equipment. This person will be expected to assist in the recruitment, hiring and retention of qualified staff while assuring adherence to budget. In addition, they will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, assuring concerns are handled in a professional and timely manner.

Assist the Director in selecting strategies and operational projects that lead to attainment of budgeted revenue growth for GroundWorks.
Develop, implement and maintain processes for timesheets, billing invoices and all other requisite documentation in a timely manner.
Instruct, train and coach staff and interns on maintenance, tools and equipment repairs.
Arrange the scheduling materials and crew members to optimize operations and adherence to specifications and labor budgets on assigned projects.
Manage, develop and implement strategies to enhance production and create a safe work environment.
Assure operations are performed in a safe, efficient manner.
Prepare and review timesheets for final approval by Director, assist in the approval of billing invoices when necessary and all other requisite documentation in a timely manner.
Recommend career path opportunities, through professional development planning for staff.
Assist in the performance of employee evaluations, recommending job status and wage changes to Director.
Document all disciplinary discussions with employees.
Recommend employees' progression in the organization, assuring equal opportunity for all employees.
Maintain control over inventory of equipment and materials assigned, to assure protection and proper use.
Provide oversight for a safe and organized shop facility.
Provide recommendations with rationale for construction and operation proposals, including labor hours, equipment requirements and materials.
Prepare quotes, contracts and RFP/RFI responses for potential customers.
Assist in providing technical data for the purpose of marketing horticultural and technical services to clientele.
Maintain up-to-date awareness of green industry trends, new techniques, technological advances and government regulations.
Develop and maintain contact with clients, evaluating concerns and taking action as needed, advising Director of any inconsistencies or problems.
Record checklists and provide weekly progress reports for clients.
Develop and maintain working relationships with Housing Hope colleagues to assist in providing clients with quality service.
Maintain effective communication with all colleagues within and outside of the organization.
Have a working knowledge of specifications, site conditions and exceptions, and labor budgets for all sites managed.
Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Represent HopeWorks and/or Housing Hope at events as requested.
Perform other duties as requested.
Do other routine office work as requested.
Drive company vehicles as required.
Assist with other agency requirements as directed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work in a general office environment as well as outdoor environment.
Regular exposure to weather-heat, wet, cold, wind, and noise.

Required Education & Experience:

Current Commercial Pesticide Operator's License (Laws & Safety, Herbicide & Insecticide) - or ability to obtain in 30 - 60 days
Extensive irrigation knowledge
Ability to read plans
Experience in heavy machine operations

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Valid Washington Driver's License & meets insurance standards
Ability to effectively instruct & supervise crews in relevant landscape management procedures & safety practices
Knowledge of job requirements & organizational relationships within the company
Knowledge of company policies and procedures
Ability to communicate professionally with clients
